2026-12 Living Artfully with Gail

August 20, 2026 in 2026

Hello Dear Art Lover

Finally Launching!!

As I prepare this letter it’s actually feeling like a fall day. I’m kind of loving it myself but I know I am in the minority. The beginning of Sept has always felt like the start of a new year to me more than the beginning of an actual new year. And I am so excited I’m bursting. I’ve been working on a project for months that I can finally set out into the world.

Here’s your special invitation.

If you've been curious about gel printing but weren't sure where to start, this is the perfect place.

I've put together a short video as a First Edition Launch. It covers the 5 most common challenges that beginners will encounter.

For just $7 you can peek inside the course with this 'door crasher special' before the full Gel for Joy course opens in Sept.

Doors open Thursday Aug 20.

Doors close Monday Aug 24, midnight.

In Sept, I'll be opening THE PLAYGROUND for show and tell.

NO mean girls allowed. Just lots of play.

Can you come out and play? I hope so.

Thanks again for being part of my art world. I really appreciate you being here.

ROCK ON,

Gail

The WHAT’S. The WHY’s. The HOW TO’s of Gel Printing

1. What the heck is Gel Printing? Gel printing is a simple type of monoprinting using a piece of soft, flexible reusable gelatin-like material. It is often made of Silicone.

2. I don’t have a lot of space for creating art. The beauty of gel printing is that you can do it right at the kitchen table. Supplies can be minimal and stored easily in things like a pizza box or bin. Cleanup is a breeze.

3. I’m not an artist. That’s why so many people are drawn to this beginner friendly technique. You get immediate results and there is no pressure to create something perfect. In fact, making muddy or ‘failed’ prints can easily be printed over.

4. How much does it cost to get started and how easy is it to get supplies? A gel plate comes in various sizes and costs under $30. Available at any art store or online. You can use a variety of paints you might already have on hand. You can print on any type of paper and even fabric. You can even use acrylic markers and house paint. Scour your house and your recycling bin for objects to make impressions. You can make your own stencils and shapes from light cardboard if you want. BTW a gel plate can last forever.

5. What do you do with the papers you make? You can gift them to friends as works of art, make cards, wrapping paper, collage onto other work you have, add them to journals and scrapbooks. Or just admire them. You’ll make some you love just because.

6. I don’t have any time to squeeze one  more thing into my calendar. Gel printing provides immediate gratification without the pressure of having to create a masterpiece. It’s all about experimentation with PLAY being the driving force. I guide you every step of the way and then let your own imagination take over. I’ll be adding all sorts of fabulous new ideas that you can access whenever you want to explore this quietly addictive passion. I think that PLAY is the ultimate form of self-care. Active meditation.

7. How is this course different from all the youtube videos that are out there? I record my lessons in real time so you can see how long I leave the paper on the plate. You can watch whenever you want and I’ll have a monthly zoom called ‘JOIN ME IN THE PLAYGROUND’ where you can share (or not) DM questions and join me in my city if you're in town. We can hang and print.
