Hello Dear Art Lover… I Lost My Mind

Please accept my belated Happy Easter and Happy Passover greetings. I truly believe I lost my mind somewhere.

Not only did I lose track of the calendar, but I found myself doing some things I usually don't do. Like buying girl diapers for Theo [ Joanna just gave me the look when I suggested she could turn them around] And then I responded to a chain 'quarantine' recipe email. I never do those things. I apologize if I messed up your chain or sent you an email.

But I think I've found some of it..my mind that is. I have just figured out how much this pause has affected me.
Nancy and I were anticipating a joint show at the Lesliegrove Gallery and both of us were working hard to get new work done .We were really in the zone.

And then you know what happened. We came to a skidding halt.

Being a bit of a Pollyanna, I didn't run out and get some canvases in the sizes I like to work on. And only just now I realized that I had quite a few large pieces of paper that I could prepare for acrylic paint. I gessoed 7 pieces and started right in grooving to the tunes on Spotify and madly created a new Grandma painting. I attach an image of the first layer so you can see where I am starting this one.
I used gesso to make the paper sturdier, although you don't need to do that. I also used a wet wipe, but that is another story.

I sincerely hope you have been able to hang on to your mind but I'd love to hear some funny stories if you feel like sharing.

In the meantime, let's ROCK ON!

Gail
